“Is it excepted I should know no secrets
That appertain to you? Am I yourself
But, as it were, in sort or limitation,
To keep with you at meals, comfort your bed,
And talk to you sometimes? Dwell I but in the suburbs
Of your good pleasure? If it be no more,
Portia is Brutus’ harlot, not his wife.” – Julius Caesar, Act 2, Scene 1.
The September Adventure: Travel Memories prompt for today is “swimsuit,” so I decided to have a go at a monochromatic painting inspired by this beautiful antique photograph of a 1920s swimsuit. It’s amazing to see how fashion has evolved over such a short time. I kind of wish it were still the norm to wear bloomers and high heels to the beach. 😛
Another shot at painting first, then sketching, and trying some softer lines with watercolor pencil.
I think this one is pretty self-explanatory. 🙂
How about another cat to start your weekend?
Trying to find a good style for drawing cats. I love them, but their personalities are tough to capture!
A little house inspired by the awesome work of Ira Sluyterman van Langeweyde.
Playing again with simplicity in my character designs, this time with two fashionable mod ladies. 🙂
“O, I have suffered with those that I saw suffer.” –The Tempest, Act I, Scene 2.
These past few weeks I’ve been revisiting the Rune Factory games (an important part of my middle school Japanese animation phase). There are a lot of interesting monsters in the game, so I thought I’d try drawing a few of my favorites.
