Throwback #NatureDoodlewash

cinderellatypography

This #naturedoodlewash is from over a year ago (when I had just seen the live-action Cinderella for the first time), but I thought I’d post it to celebrate the official end of spring. I painted this to record all of the beautiful flowers that had popped up in our garden over the spring, and this year has been just the same. As we head into summer, I’m hoping our garden will continue to thrive.

Liebster Q&A!

liebsterheader

Happy Friday, everyone! The wonderful Sissh of Sissh Art Journal has nominated me for a Liebster Award! The Liebster Award is a way to get to know other bloggers, discover new content with smaller followings, and to celebrate blogs that we love, so a huge thanks to Sissh for the honor! Along with the award are some fun questions that I am going to answer below. If you want to know about squirrel meat, P.G. Wodehouse, and awesome yet obscure people from history, continue after the jump:

Herbs for Mother’s Day

Not sure if this one counts for a #doodlewashdinner exactly, but I think fresh herbs are so important to cooking, so I’m gonna throw it in here. 🙂

This is a gift that my sister, my dad, and I put together for my mom for Mother’s Day. We love cooking together and using fresh herbs in our meals, so we thought we’d give her the beginnings of her very own herb garden!

Since I have the least green thumb in the family, I left my sister to pick out the actual plants (parsley, thyme, basil, sage, oregano, rosemary, and some beautiful flowers). My part of the plan was creating these little tags, inspired by the Thank You Herb Gifts Tutorial from A Night Owl. Hand lettering is still pretty new for me, so I’m excited to continue trying and improving that skill.

My mom really loved the finished product. I was so glad that we were able to create something special for such a wonderful lady. 🙂
